My T/c Contender with a MGM 24'' 17WSM Barrel Did the deed around 9:15 pm this evening----Been trying to shoot this 11.5 lb Male Gray fox for 2 months or better from my back yard  --well tonight he slipped-up--the 25gr Winchester load flue true.. DRT<DRT at 78 yds. It did pass through the shoulders but no fur damage to deal with--Like this Round, its killed plenty of raccoon's , Porkies and smaller varmints and if you shoot squirrels to eat you best head shoot'em.  I like my HMR too but its been resting more and more lately-----I've only killed 3 Grays and the first was in 1976 so this guy will be tanned and hanging on the wall with the Red Fox ,Coyotes,Bobcat,Fisher,Pine Martin, raccoon's and all the mounts-this Gray is special to me---here's a couple pic's

Nice looking grey...Wish I could come up with a .17 wsm semi-auto without having to mortgage the house. Heard nothing but good about them up to this point.

Nice fox alright. Ever tried the 20 grain? I haven't had a chance to get out hunting with my 17 and the 20 gn yet but they sure shoot great at a target. My rifle likes the 20's better than the 25's for some reason. Mine is a bolt action though.

Finally retired and now I am learning how to farm and ranch. Been fun so far.

That's a beauty of a fox SB!  Great details on the 17 round too.  Pretty cool to see the outside and inside damage (or lack of in some cases).
