Finally got around to getting my last 7 dogs ready for the auction ,good colors but I'm afraid poor prices await ..already have 25 real.nice ones in the freezer left from last year so these have to go ...Deb says im too old to snare next year by myself out in the big country so far from home ...will see what she says when I load the truck end of Nov to prebait and get ready to start hanging cable ,the shop can be such a lonely place to sleep

As your friend I’ll give you a little advice. You better run your new cables through her dishwasher now. And start stocking warm blankets too.

Sort of agree Don, thinking maybe a clothes dryer beside the dishwasher, at least it will be a bit warmer in the shop next winter !!

The barn was an added touch just for you my friend ..advice is always welcome and appreciated ..new dishwasher now so may have to be a little.more discreet ..lol. shop is heated so I'll just turn up the thermostat..

Good luck with your fur at the sale as far as not going next season it sounds like she will have to go along and help out so she can keep you under her watchful eye

She has come with me almost every check for last 3 years and says she is tired of getting cold sitting in the truck waiting ..she would love to come down the banks with me but bad knees won't let that happen. Shes afraid I will fall on one of the icy hills and not make it home ,I told her that I'm worth more dead than alive and that didn't go over well ..lol.. I'm sure she will come around to the idea that I'm not quitting anytime soon .

This will not make her happy but, tell her that if something happened then that you passed doing what you wanted and are happy. I have to tell my wife that soon too.

You could let her sled down the hill and then pull her back up in it attached to the truck. Should I ever have the pleasure of meeting her I will deny ever saying anything on this thread.

A guy asked me once if I was ever afraid that something may happen to me while out there in the wild by myself with no help ...my answer to him was first ,I could be so lucky as to die doing what I love and second, I just hoped I would die face done so the ravens don't peck my eyes our before some one finds me ..

I spend countless hours several days a week roping and doctoring cattle in some of Oklahoma’s roughest country by myself. There’s some days I’ll do it on a younger less experienced horse which increases the odds of having something go wrong. I’m 54 and have been fortunate to do something I love for a living and my entire family knows that if I died out there it would be a tragedy but I would’ve been doing what I love where I love.

I only know Murphy from this forum but I beleive that both his and my family would understand and be happy if we passed while doing what we enjoy ...beats the alternative of spending my last days in a care home ,not knowing who I am or worse ,having to be waited on hand and foot like a child ...neither is a problem I want to have .
