This rascal had given me the slip on numerous occasions but I was watching his hole this morning and it showed itself. Gun is a Savage B-Mag, .17WSM, 15-grain bullet at 3300 fps. The neck shot passed through violently

I had one of those cross the road in front of me a few days ago. Not something one sees in Oklahoma everyday. I did shoot one about 10 years ago and I took it to the local feed store for “show and tell”. It was quite the conversation piece.

The hay hogs wouldn't mix well with your livestock, so it's a good thing you don't have them in any appreciable numbers. One of the worst things associated with woodchucks (groundhogs, if from the South), is the holes they make and the legs they break. We don't see as many as we did in the past when I'd shoot 6 dozen per year. Coyotes may be the reason for their decline.
