I am working on a gray fox mount and I need a new tail for it. If anyone here has a tanned or raw gray fox tail (or a scrap skin with the tail on) please let me know! I can pay with Paypal or trade any of my other tanned furs of equal value.

Thanks!

By the way here's the mount I'm working on (obviously unfinished!)--It's a simple pedistal, but the tail will be attached to the backside and wrapped around in front. I saw a similar mount in a hunting lodge in SC and I was inspired!

Actually, it was a male fox -- But yes, the pink PETA flier I used to card his ears does give him a bit of a femine look!

(I found a tail, by the way.)

I'll certainly post pics when it's done!

This is the mount I saw in South Carolina that first gave me the idea. I didn't like the pyramid base and the mount itself wasn't great quality, but I really liked the idea of incorperating the tail into it. Just gives it a more unique look. I actually got several good ideas from looking at other mounts in that place, too!

That's looking good! The PETA materials give it a nice touch too. :huntingrifle:

That was the first thing I noticed in the ear, had to chuckel. You live where there are alot of grey fox. Grab a call and go shoot one ? Just a thought.

Yeah, my mom's church donated to PETA (I don't go to that church!) and she came back with those fliers for me, so I put 'em to better use!

And I actually cannot shoot foxes here in Florida --for some reason it's illegal, even though we have tons of them around here. So for this mount, I bought a skin from another trapper up north, since everywhere else it's perfectly legal to shoot a fox! I can't wait to leave Florida once I'm through with college!

Well Florida is nice in other ways but in others is not. If I get a grey I will let you know. They are alot more scarce right now. 5 years ago they were every where.

I no longer need a tail, but I'll always consider buying fox skins (red or gray) if you have any. Of all the furs I sell, foxes are the ones that sell off quickest, but it can be hard to replenish stock since I can't just go out and trap them on my own here! They always have to come from out of state.

If you really want fox pelts please give me a call I'm sure we can make a deal. I can pretty much send you as many grays and kits as you want.
