Is this a coydog or a regular coyote pup?

I got him in a few months ago along with his two brothers, from a local nuisance trapper. I thought this one particular pup was kind of unique in that he had one floppy ear, while the other two did not. Is it possible he has some dog in him?

I have never actually looked at coyote pups up close, so I wasn't sure if folded ears were something common or not.

There have been several coyote/dog hybrids killed in the same area these pups were caught (north Florida), but these pups have normal coyote coloration, and I would have assumed they were pure coyote, had it not been for the ear on this one. His face is somewhat darker than the other two, also.
I wish I'd taken a picture of all three before I skinned them so you could see a better comparison between this pup and the others.

Looks like there could be a little bit of terrier in him.

Also, as with dogs, a litter of pups could have more than one sire. Meaning if 6 pups came from one female, it could have 1-6 different daddies depending on how many times the female gets bred. Maybe the momma took a liking to a horny little mutt sniffing around the area! :D

Yes Ebbs, you hit the bullseye good call ! Your kidda smart.

Also seeing how they were obtained through a ADC there most likely were mutts in the area capable of being the sire.

These were the only pictures I took before skinning -- I wish now I'd taken more, but I mainly had wanted a reference pic of the ears so I could make them look the same way on the finished mount. But, I WILL take pictures of the completed mount. If I remember correctly (this skin has been in the freezer for a couple months now) he had a totally white chest and underside.

I am just now getting back to this project (I've been SO busy with school and other stuff) which is why I just now got around to uploading the pictures!

I'm not sure that I would assume that he was part dog from the pics. Like cat said more pics may help. He looks to be just a wee little guy judging from the size of your hand... unless of course you have amazonian hands.LOL I would like to see the pics when you are finished.

A friend of mine got a dog from a mild farm and they said that there was no yote in it and we both know other wise. It was the jumpest dog I ever saw. He said that it would check out the sourrnding area before it left the house. He said we got it howling one time and he would never do that again. It was run over by a car.

Looks more domestic to me than it does coyote, though seeing only from these pics does make it rather tough.

I'd say it has at least some coyote in it, more domestic than anything to me though

Thanks for the input! I'll certainly post more pictures when I finish the mount, I still can't beleive I didn't take more photos of the actual carcass. He's a very small animal, probably the runt of the litter. He was the skinniest of the bunch, too. Weighed less than 5 lbs and his ribs showed.
The taxidermy suppliers don't even make forms for pups this small, so I bought a kit fox form and replaced it's head with a cast of this pup's skull, so the fit should be perfect.

That small..hmm. I thought I was looking at a full grown dog.

5 pounds is more like a large rabbit. So it was a pup for certain then.
