This kinda goes with my New Mexico post. We will be traveling to Colorado in about a week and will be covering the entire state via HWY 25 from south to north. I am wondering if there are any good calling spots on public land along this corridor? Would really like to make a few stands with my girls.

Also... any idea what it costs for a non-resident hunting permit for a week or so? I would only be looking to go after Coyotes.

Thanks guys!

Not much public land along I-25. Most public hunting areas are 6-12 miles west of 25. You could pull into the truck stop (east side of hwy.) at Colorado City and ask around for any private ground or any good forest areas to the west on hwy.165. Most folks down that way are pretty easy going. I hunted about 5 miles south, a place called Lascar Rd. on private but that was 5 or 6 years ago.

LICENSE FEES

Small Game non-resident............$56.00
Small Game (One day)................$11.00
Youth Small Game (under 18)......$1.75
Furbearer..................................$56.00
Habitat Stamp(required)................$5.00

All above fees are Non-Resident costs.

If you run you'll only die tired

If you were going on I-76 out by Neb.. It is mostly private but most of them will not only let you hunt but will show you were to hunt and tell you what the best time plus help any way they can..

Well were back at it again. Pulling the trailer to Salida right now and will be there for 2 weeks. Hoping to find some coyotes at some point!
