I know this has been like this for a number of years now but I see Mule Deer living down on the valley bottoms all year. The only time you would see them is if the snow pushed them out of the high hills or mountains and then they would return in the spring, Geese don't all migrate south in the fall either as you will see them in Jan., I've seen them up north in the same month when the temp. is -25. Strange how living patterns have changed over the years, So have any of you noticed the same changes where you Live?

I think it's because the populations of these animals have increased. The Muleys could have to do with a bit of whitetail intermingling too maybe during the rut?

I think you hit the nail on the head ebbs. The populations of most game animals are at or near record levels.
There are three kinds of people in this world......Those who can count, and those who can't !

We're lucky if the Mule Deer populations is 20% of what it was 30yrs. ago, why do geese stay up in the winter? The bird watch clubs that are around these areas do there counts around beginning of Jan. and you would be amazed at what they find that we always assumed were migratory, we call all of these, resident animals up here for the ones that shouldn't be normally here. I think when we were over run by predators years ago and the big game numbers were way up that they came closer to towns etc. for safety, and ease of food supply, there is so many places that have resident game living among us people. Look at Banff or Jasper Parks that are huge, follow the news and remember about yote, cougar and wolf attacks that have happened around these famous park areas?
