FYI for anyone interested. Was at Richard's Sporting Goods tonight and saw they have this combo deal going on the Flexton Coyote Rage and their Rabbit distress. I wasn't super impressed with either call, in fact the flexible material made it difficult to manipulate sound from if you're accustomed to traditional calls.

Yeah that's right. It took the word out altogether when I put it in the first time. Surprised the Admin didn't flag me or something!

Thanks Tommy, I had a feeling. Wasn't impressed with their feel or range of sound. Glad somebody finally put the questions to rest.

I almost bought one for my nephew last week. His Dad and i partner for a hunt every year and this year we will do a three man team. I hope to get him doing the calling.
Thanks for saving me the coin.

As with any production call, i'd suggest guys try it for themselves. A single bad review doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad call. My experience is that bad things can happen in production, and more-so in shipping. I've seen reeds popped out, bent, etc just on the calls hanging on the shelves at the big box stores.

Also - this is a closed reed call. In cold weather, a closed reed call is going to be more likely to freeze up because of the size of the reed, and overall design of the call. One option is to flip it over and blow it out from the other end. We have to flick the reed of an open reed to keep it running... so we should expect SOME maintenance of a closed reed as well.

We'll have to work on getting Richard's real name uncensored. That does seem kind of silly. :pawprint:

We'll use both. I really want to see to it that my nephew gets a little call time. His Dad has taught him to shoot well and he is a good kid. Call time and a coyote, that's not asking to much is it??

Sounds like a gift to me for the young man, and I bet he will never forget it. I think its great that he is takin an intrest in hunting. I think all who hunt need to take a kid huntin.

I was thrilled when I learned his Dad bought him a .243, and was planning on him coming to the hunt. We normally field a couple teams and base out of our cabin, it makes for a fun time. I agree that we all as hunters should make an effort to get a youth interested in hunting and the shooting sports.

Yeah YD if you had to hunt by yourself all the time it wouldn't be nearly as fun. Make a lot of good friends thru huntin. That and golf. There are times I need to be alone just to clear the head, but for the fun of it people make the difference.
