Bears are natural, while wolves are not. Honey on boot heels sounds like a great idea, but do we really need to sacrifice more humans to wildlife aggression? Humans and Wildlife are intertwined, so we added a few unnatural WOLVES to the scenario? Fur will fly along with human skin. This could be considered a "learning" process of WHAT NOT TO DO in the future. Adding carp species to the GREAT LAKES would be another "learning" don't do process. Yet if CARP deserve to prosper, some group will stop me from bowhunting on the water! Cliffy

Game management has always been a problem, some states are better at it than others. Here in Oregon wolves are starting to make thier presence know with the livestock in the NE portion of the state. ODFW haven't choose to address it for what reason I am not certain. Better to solve the issue now before it really get state wide in my opinion. Our current state wide issue is a out of control cougar population that they offer tags for but the harvest success can't put a dent in the numbers. This issue started years ago when the downstreamers ( those east of the Cascade mountains) voted to ban hunting cougars with dogs... Now they are offering less big game tags due to the impact.

Well the wolf thing has everything top do with the feds again at this point. It is doubtful that will change for a while, at least until we waste more dollars in the courts.
Is there any indication that the state may allow dogs again for cougars ?

Something tells me that it will take a long court battle and countless hearings to reaquire the right to hunt wolves... either that or someone really important getting eaten or attacked or losing money or....

Yes so true, buts its obvious from the article that people are getting fed up and those up above are making or being influenced from others, the same scenario happened here years ago and our system is pretty well untouchable from the general public, yours can at least be changed If enough people raise a ruckus and threaten those responsible out of office?

Once the courts are involved it gets way more complicated. If the anti's don't get the ruling they want they go to a more liberal court an file all over again with a slightly different case or appeal to a friendly court. The anti's have deep pockets a lot of which is raised by using deceptive advertising, not illegal just deceptive. OK I'm about to go on a rant here about the evil HSUS, so in the interest of staying on subject I will stifle myself.
