Hope the dog's spirit isn't broken! my buddies were hot on a couger with dogs one time, had it tree'd then heard them yelping, then they arrived one dog was dead, but not from cougers, wolves were following the hunt, when the dogs treed the cat the wolves moved in and killed one of the dogs my buds were there right away never got a shot at them, they have been hunting cats for twenty years and never had or ever heard of this happening to anyone before, pretty wild if you ask me.
