I've dried a lot of fruit. From bananas to apples to peaches. Wait for a sale and stock up.
For beef or venison I like the mesquite flavor smoke or A-1 sauce.
Moved this over to the recipe forum. Looks like a good recipe ( I like anything spicy ), we use our dehydrator all the time from drying garlic, peppers, fruit and some veggies. Drying jerky in the stove is also easy.
it look almost the same as the one I have. Have you ever tried jerky from ground meat ? That is about the only way I do it now. Even the elk I got this year, just ground it up and used the jerky tub that came with my dehydrator.
If using regular meat take a short piece of 2x6 and dado or cut several swipes in the center, however wide you want the strips and depth you want. Then you can take a filet knife, lay the meat on the 2x6 and filet your strips for jerky. Very fast and easy way to get the strips.
