I'm surprised that Ohio doesn't have a larger group of hunters on here, with all the yotes running around I'd think there'd be more? We did some daytime coon hunting/calling yesterday and just about got ran over by a big yote.

I wish the fur-bearer season was longer in OH...I didn't get out as much as I wanted to when it came to coon-calling... : )

I agree with you 100% on that!! Maybe they could/should aleast make coon season longer, like maybe to atlease the end of Feb? Then there would be time to hunt after deer season and you wouldn't have to worry about spooking the deer. Besides most of Ohio have coons out the butt,we get 12 or more at a time at the deer feeders and have cam pics of 18+ at times, so I doubt that it would do much to the coon population if it were extended a month or so.

Yeah, Stonegod, the ODNR states that OH has a terrible raccoon problem..So, when asked about extending the season thru the month of Feb, The ODNR's answer was "NO--That's the raccoon's breeding season!!!"
