A lot of people play a sound(usually a rabbit distress) call for 60 secs and then sit and look for 4-5 minutes, Others play the caller continuously.

I've tried both and have had luck. Offsetting the sounds low to high and then back down has been the best for me before breeding season. I've used lightning jack and seemed to get better respone to that here. Don't know why, it seems to be more gravelly sounding. I know some guys will hammer me about it doesn't matter how loud but start out low and gradually bring it to a fever pitch. Good luck no matter what you chose !

What I usually do is play a racoon and bird in distress sequence that usually lasts about two minutes. I then sit and wait for about ten. I shine the red spotlight before i call again. the next couple of times ill play it for about 30 seconds and cut it and then wait for about 5 minutes and repeat. ive had luck this way and its the way i prefer.

I start out with lightning jack on 3 and play for about 2 minutes then break, after another minute start calling again on 4 i also start shining on this round, call for about 1 min and ramp up to 5 let call for another minute and break for 1-1.5 min then on 5 one more time, and if nothing comes in i give it a few minutes, and i switch to a bird distress and do the same thing as above and if still nothing i switch to screamin gre fox and let it run continuously while shining the whole time that usually will bring a fox out if nothing after a few minutes i sit for about 5 minutes with no calling just shining and then i leave
