Are you guys also being interrupted with some ad saying "this is what the internet could be like" or something like that? It gives you a blank screen every other time you click on something?

OK. Time to end the protest. The government isn't going to act on any internet legislation. Too controversial.

The Dems and the Libs want it pretty bad, but you're right, they won't act this year with elections coming up.

They'll back down. Too many people are being educated about it. The software to get people involved is causing the blackout. It only takes a second to click out of it.

Well it seems like it only happens on this site and it is really annoying. I though I had a virus at first.

It'll be gone soon...One of us I won't mention any names, is solely responsible for this on this site., For that I say thank you.

Most of the major players on the net participated in this protest, Google, Wikipedia, etc.etc. etc.....

Nope, it started with the banner at the top. I'm for it. Anything we can possibly do to stop the morons in gov't from taking away more liberties is A OK in my book.

Yep we participated in the protest. As a site owner I figured it was the least I could do.

It's been removed for now. Hopefully everyone has taken the time to educate themselves on the MANY ways our government is working to strip us of our rights, one little right at a time. They are able to do this because people don't pay attention (or dont care).

Hopefully they don't slip this one past us like they did with Bush's "Patriot Act" or Obama's "National Defense Authorization Act". We're quickly getting away from the constitution in this country and it's a bit disturbing. My grandfathers, great grandfathers and great great grandfathers who fought to defend those freedoms would be disgusted with the people of this country today.

That's all i've got to say on the subject.

I don't want to sound too political but with as many members as there is getting to be on this site it is a voice that could be heard. I agree with Chris in doing the protest. I definitely agree with the reasons he stated in doing so.

What exactly is it that they are threatening to do to the internet? And who is threatening to do it?
