I am going to use this thread to post any upcoming hunts I may have locally. Others may do the same under this thread.

Please post details so they are easy to find/read.

Where: Southwest Colorado (scattered public lands)
When: January 14-16 (pick 1 day)
Time: Day or night
Party size: 3?

Notes:
I'm looking for at least one hunting partner. I have a few locations in mind but not set on anything. Pretty flexible schedule over those three days. Might be able to do the evening/night of the 13th as well. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Can you get a night hunting permit for public lands in your area?

You can get night hunting permits thru a local wildlife officer. I know one that would probably give me a permit. I been wanting to ask him for one I just haven't ran into him since he sealed my bear this year. Might have to give him a call. They give them with their own discretion. You can hunt on private lands at night with landowner permission.

The few times I've gone at night, I just called the local CDOW office and they gave me a phone number for the local officer on duty that weekend. In turn, I would contact him and he/she would write down my information and hunting location then give me the green light.

Out here we have to ask for a permit... and get it signed by the local game warden....

They won't issue them in areas where Lynx are known to exist, or in areas where big game hunters are currently hunting.

That's my understanding for all public lands in Colorado

I checked with the local parks and wildlife office and they confirmed the 30 day written permit you guys spoke of. They also said it would be good for 5 GMUs. Something to think about.

Field report:

We didn't have anything come in but it wasn't for lack of trying. Ruger brought his A game and we hit five of his regular stands. Thanks Ruger for the good hunt!
