Just picked this up today. Good for 30 days here in GMU 511. If anyone wants to come this way and do a little night hunting, let me know. This is good for public land and I have a few hundred acres of private we can hunt on too.

Let me know if interested....i've got a 2 seater ATV I like to use. We can just drive it around and hop off to call every mile or so. Texas style!

$56 gets you a year long small game license. If you've never had one you have to buy a habitat stamp too and I think that's $10.

Same fees I pay right now. Now that I've been here 6 months it will go down next time I buy.

No difference in regs for you.....fox, bobcat and coyote are all fair game right now.

Yea man.... we can do it. Sorry I haven't replied to your email. So busy lately... ughh....

Pick a date / time. Has to be out this way unless you have some private land out your way you want to play on.

What about the hunters safety course requirements? I took mine so long ago I cant remember the year LOL, also what year is it grandfathered from? Meaning if you were born before a certain date youre exempt.

Colorado honors hunter education courses from other states but it must be verified by the original hunter education card or certificate.

Hunters born on or after Jan.1, 1949 must have completed an approved hunter education course.

I took mine in August of either 83,84,or 85 in CO. Believe it or not I remember my DL #. Would that help locate it or possibly the years and/or months? I plan on hunting there again in the future as my brother lives in Arvada.

Welcome to PT 870guy.

Your going to be on the "western slope" of Colorado. That's a beautiful area of the state. The Grand Mesa (the world's largest flattop mountain) is an area you will need to get very familiar with. Top notch elk country. As far as predators, coyotes can be hunted year round, bobcats and fox season ends at the end of Febuary, 7 more days. We get one extra day this year because of leap year.

You'll want to give yourself a few weeks to get acclimated to the altitude. You'll be at about 5700 ft in Mesa but the mountains quickly go over 10,000ft.

I'm in the metro area of Denver. Stay in touch and let us know when you arrive.

Can't wait till the move. Ive never had a problem with the altitude. Been to my my parents house a bunch of times. Plus rite after I got got out of high school I worked at high country outfitters out of gunnison and didn't have a problem with the altitude then. Don't know why I ever came back to new jersey to begin with. Oh well, the past is the past and colorado is my future. Elk, mulies and smokn yotes
