During this time of year for yotes, mating season, Is it a good idea to use a lot of coyote sounds vs the distress sounds. How do they act, will they hang up. Do they expect that dog ( me ) to come to them?

There are alot of WHAT IFs with using vocals! Im not goin to say they dont work, cause i have successfully called yotes in this way. But I feel, that distress works better. Now this is JMO. I feel yotes that are in tight social groups, know the sounds of the neighbors. Yotes are on a alarming walk in when and if they come to the call. I have been busted to many times doin vocals. You need to know 100% sure what your sayin to them in order to be successful.

I agree with the above. They can and do work, and this seems to be a good time as a lot of yotes are looking for mates and being territorial. However as some unnamed soul said "they still gotta eat".

Exactly...talking yote is not as easy as talking wounded rabbit.

Just like in duck hunting...some times it is better to shut up. Learn what a female sounds like and a female invite, male challenge and a locator.

The best kind of talk to a coyote this time of the year (breed'in season) is an "estrus chirp". Coyotes both male and female are interested mainly in one thing---you know---mak'in pups for the spring.

An estrus chirp is not a magic call for this time of year---a hunter must learn how to use it just like any other call, but your talk'in to them about whats on their mind. You young guys know what I mean---When that cute babe over in the corner says, "Hey handsom---want to get outta here for awhile?". You've just been CHIRPPED. :)

Welcome to predatortalk.com ambush from the Colorado rockies.

Go over to youtube and type in estrus chirp. Theres a 5 min video and others of an old fell show'in how to use the call.

Its different in coyote talk than a female whimper.

This is how i have been getting them latley and i am sure alot of others do the same. I start of with a dying jack, with the same open reed i use, i can do a really good hurt dog pup (kyi) spelled wrong sorry. The rabbit plays on the needs of the animal (hunger) the pup cry plays on the emotion of the animal. Now who knows which is better, but its like increasing your odds. Some of the dogs wont come into a dying rabbit cause thier not hungry , heard it before, what ever. But when when you throw in the sound of another dog, your luring them in with an emotion. Sometimes i make it sound like the dog got bit by the rabbit, very short burst of dog cry and back to rabbit. Or short rabbit and long crys from the dog. Try it if you havent , has been working for me.
BIG FOOT DOES NOT EXIST, stop embarressing your selfs on tv and educating coyotes with those redicoulous big foot calls.
