Came up with a load today for my 18 inch Sabre Defense....

26 grn Ramshot TAC
Hornady 60 grn HP Varmint
OAL 2.250

This load works well with the Burris XTR reticle, at least dead on out to 400 yards. It's a little hot but I saw no signs of over pressure in the spent cases. I'll follow up with info when we get a yote in the near future.

Did you use the magnum primer or the standard.

The primer that I have found that works better in one of my ar's is Rem. bench rest primer, they have a heavier duty primer material the will work in the higher pressure range and give the round another boost in fps. They do cost more so I use them only on target loads. I don't need them for any thing but 80 gr. bullets in my match rifle.

I normally use Rem 7 1/2's (magnum) because the books (most, but not all) call for them, however the 6 1/2's (standard) should be fine with all but ball powders. I pay the same for each so there is no cost difference.

Did you ever end up shooting any coyotes with this round. If so how did it work. easy on hides?
