Whitch one works best for most of you and why, do some of you use both?

I've not had the opportunity to use the harris B-pod so I can only comment on the sticks. But the way I view the harris b-pod, it might take some getting used to but I could see benefits in both; but it'll really boil down to what you're most comfortable and proficient with while shooting.

I think that sticks work real well on uneven ground, like here where it is rocky. Where the ground is smoother,if you will,bi-pods work ok as the legs are more apt to be set at the same length everytime.

I really like to use both Most of the time I take my shooting sticks but every now and then I will forget them in my truck so its nice to have the bipod with me. The sticks are better on uneven ground and you can drop them if you need for a quick shot. I do however like the bipod best for a prone shot if I get a chance.

Welcome to the site Charlie, Enjoy. Have the bipod and haven't used it to much plus just switched it over to the 250 so will see how it works.

Mmm...I use a bog pod bipod, but I feel a mounted bipod of the right length (personal preference) can serve exactly the same as portable bipods/sticks. EXCEPT that portables offer a relative quick brace for unexpected shots while stalking and or moving, at a height no gun mounted bipod could when mobile. So again its preference and what you consider a must have scenario.

well since my Stoney Point Shooting Sticks broke I went ahead and purchased the Caldwell Pivoting Bipod. i havne't had the chance to install it on my AR-15 yet as I need to install a swivel stud to do so. I have all of the parts and peices but just lack the time and drive to do it since coyote season is over until the end of turkey season.

My first impressions are that they will work great for me in my usual hunting locations but won't easily allow for the quick shot while on the move. Sitting postitions like I am usually in will work great with this bipod and the risk of my AR-15 hitting the dirt will be even less than with shooting sticks.

I understand that the Stoney Point shooting stics listed above work great for most but I must have gotten a bad pair as the plastic broke under normal use on the second time out with them. This resulted in some nice scratches on my scope and AR as it feel into a barb wire fence.

I have 3 different brands of shooting sticks and as well as a couple monopods and I couple different bipods including harris. I like them all for different hunts and terrain. The advantages to the Harris Bi Pods include being gun mounted (less items to carry), you can get the height that suits your needs, and they are in my opinion the most stable platform to shoot from in actual hunting situations.

eventhough I'd prefer to use a bi-pod due to the accuracy increase when prone. But in most field situations, I find myself sitting down so sticks tend to be the only application when hunting.
