That time of year is fast approaching and some of you will be traveling to friend's or relatives for Christmas or they will be coming to your place. Will you be making predator hunting part of the festivities by taking someone out or just shut it down and take a break?

I'm gonna run my short line Christmas morning, then stuff my face with Miss K's good home cook'in in the afternoon. When I'm able to move again, I'll poke along out to the east horse pasture and do some coyote call'in to see if I missed any of last springs youngesters. I hope I got'em all last month cause it'll be a chore having to bend over to skin a critter after such a big meal.lol.

If you run you'll only die tired

I live for this time of year. My vacations are and have always and hope to always be taken during this time of year. It is a family tradition for the hunting and gathering of families together. The food is sinful as there is so much. The cultured mixes the special breads all the deserts one could possibly imagine the quail, squirels ham (fresh farm smoked, wild turkey , home made wines and beer and moonshine( if uncle Jess shows up). Sorry believe I got off track there. Love to take the younguns huntin usually save the predators around the house for this time of year as make it easier and almost always a sure thing. Grand kids still a little young hopefully in the next year or 2 get the oldest started with rabbits and squirels. My answer would be yes enough said.

From the time my Dad bought me my first shotgun it has been my ritual to do a little hunting on Thanksgiving and Christmas. My Mom always threw the three of us(Dad and my brother) out of the house while she cooked. We always headed to Grandma's, Dad's Mom, first we visited then we walked across the fields for a mile to his Sisters. I haven't always made it out, but I always think back to those days. Good Memories. This year my wife may be in Denver as one of her GM's just had a 1 month premature baby yesterday. So I may just hunt all day. Perhaps I'll take my avatar out for some quail.

Yes sir. In fact, as much as we love family, we might be heading the opposite way this Christmas. We have to find a place to live out west while the kiddos are off school so this is really our last chance before the lease is up here in March.
Plus..... the new-to-me mega cab if perfect. It allows me to always have my gear on hand for setting up and calling in some coyotes no matter where I go.

Plan on taking the son in law and grandson deer hunting and predator calling.
I'm trying to think but nothing happens.
