Well tonight when I went out side to feed r dogs, I found that my favorite dog wasn't doing well. (He's really my wife's dog) He is half Pitbull and half Rhodesian Ridgeback. He weighs about a 120 lb, and all muscle.

We kept him inside till he got an ear infection, then we put him outside cause of r young kids. He was a great guard dog. We have 2 girls and he would run 2 there crib when they cried. He loved people and was great with kids. Although u would swear he was a killer if some "stranger" knock on the door. Julie would take him every where she went, walking/running, down 2 the collage, grocery store.... where ever. Never once did he jump out of the bed of the truck, even when people would walk by and call to him.

We been having some trouble with him, he got an ear infection some time ago. We put him on Steroids, and Antibiotic's but as soon as we quit giving it 2 him, the infection would come right back. Tonight when I went out to feed him and my Blue Healer, I noticed that he couldn't control his hind legs. we figure that the infection got worse and he got a parasitic worm in his brain. Hated to c him suffer anymore so I put him down.

I always viewed horses and dogs as "farm tools" and when they "broke down" u just got new ones. This dog was deferent though. We got him cause the local vet was going 2 put him 2 sleep cause no one he knew wanted a PITBULL! So his assistant called us 2 c if we would take him cause he was house broke, kid safe, and knew tons of tricks. My wife went and spent about 2 hrs with him and just totally fell in love with him. At first I thought he was just another "brown" dog, but I was wrong. He turned out 2 b one hell of a good dog.

We'll all miss miss him and it will b a long time before we find a new dog that can measure up 2 Rusty!!!!

Sorry for your loss man. I understand how you feel. We have a mutt now that is a better companion, and more loyal than any dog we have ever had. Can't imagine how we would feel if we lost her. Keep your chin up!
